Goodbye, hello, and some Filipino fun!

Hello everyone! This week has been soo busy!! However, it was so much fun! We had transfers this week and it was an emotional day! Especially when my companion almost forgot to say goodbye! ðŸ˜‚😂 She got in the car after packing up her stuff and I just stood and watched everyone else hugging and saying goodbye lol it was hilarious, actually! Anways, I said hello to my new companion, Sister Martin! She's from Scotland and she is super nice! We went to a wedding on Friday for one of our recent converts, and we had soo much Filipino food, it was so good!! We also helped a lady move apartments with the elders and it was really really gross!! My arm broke out into hives from touching something and all of our hands were covered in a film of nastiness! It was gross haha we were all sweaty, hot, and tired! But we went and got a slushie from 7-Eleven afterwards, so it all worked out okay! We also got a little bit of a workout from taking everything up the stairs! On Sunday evening, we had a chance to go to another Filipino dinner, so that was good too!

In church on Sunday, we had so many good talks and a good lesson about how we need to exercise our spiritual muscles. Something that was repeated several times throughought the lessons was "we don't grow our spiritual muscles by staying where we are, doing the same things every day. We grow them by stepping out of our comfort zone and pushing ourselves." I love that! I know that if we just read our scriptures to say we read for the day, we just say our prayers to say we did it, and we go to church because we have to, our spiritual muscles will get weak! If we make time to read our scriptures every day, if we prayer with a sincere heart to find answers to our questions or concerns, if we sincerely repent every day, and we go to church to enjoy the spirit and take the sacrament because we want to be closer to the Savior, we will really start to see our spiritual muscles grow! I hope you all will focus on that this week and really find ways to push yourself in the gospel. I know that by doing this, you will be able to come closer to the Savior and you will feel more of an influence from the Spirit. I am so grateful for all of the people in my life and for all the Lord has blessed me with! I love you all and I hope you have a wonderful week!

Love,
Sister Talbot

6 months and transfers!

Hello everyone! How are you all? I apologize for not sending an email to you last week (for those that didn't get one), it didn't Send on time. Anways, this week was pretty good! We got transfer calls and it was pretty sad. I'm staying and a few others in my district are staying, but the elders in Lewvan are closing the area so that means that me and my companion will be taking over their people as well! Nerve racking at the least. We are really going to miss all the elders! They're the best! If you don't believe me, see the pics below. Our district group chat is called crocks and socks so all us Sisters went and bought crocks today! ðŸ˜‚👇Also, I've been out for 6 months!! How crazy! It's rained a lot this weekend, but it was so fun.

Speaking of rain, I love the parable Jesus gives about the man who builds his house upon the sand. Like the Savior said, if we build our testimonies and our faith on sandy things or principles of the world, we will fall down! If we don't build our foundations on Christ, we will fall! So this week, I challenge you all to power-wash the sand out of your lives and cement yourselves and your testimonies in the gospel! I promise that as you strengthen your faith in the Lord and the doctrine of of Christ, you will see the strength of the Lord in your life and how much he truly strengthens His people in their times of trial. I love you all and I hope you have a wonderful week this week!
