Italy, India and raking leaves!

Hello everyone! How was your week? Ours was so great! We met this really cute mother and son from India, and we are going to start teaching the mom English! It's going to be so fun! We also met with some formers this week, and the husband is Italian. He's very funny, he's a conspiracy theorist and one of their theories is that Joseph Smith saw aliens, and that we believe in aliens....it's all very fascinating πŸ˜‚πŸ‘½  but we also raked lots of leaves this week! It was so much fun! Other than that, we have just been busy trying to do the Lord's work and trying to find people! We set a baptismal date with a guy we are teaching and we are so excited for him! He had a long way to go but we know he will get there!!

So this weekend, we had stake conference, and I loved it! In one of the talks, someone said "We won't always see the Savior working in our lives, we just have to believe that He is"! I love that quote because it's so true! In a BYU devotional called "Humble Uncertainty" (which all of you should read--->) the speaker talks about how we need to take steps forward into the darkness in order to show God we trust Him and to get to where He needs us to be. As we take that step, we will see that there's no thorns waiting for our bare feet, only the rest of the path. I promise as you all prayerfully ask the Lord what to do and where to go, He will help you take the next step and you will be able to feel His love even more and trust in Him even more! Take the plunge, it's worth it!! I love you all and I say these things because I know that it's all true! I hope you have a great week and can feel the Savior's love for you!

Walking in a snowstorm!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! (Canadian Thanksgiving haha) I hope you are all doing well! This week was great, sooo much happened! First of all, we had a major snow storm this weekend with winds up to 60km/hr! President Hitchcock told our zone that we had to stay inside all day and not drive, but if we had to we could walk places.... So we decided to go do some things and walked for almost 3 hours in this storm πŸ˜‚ it was the worst, the sleet felt like glass shards hitting our face lol but it turned out okay! Then later that night, Sister Foulger got very sick so we spent Friday evening and Saturday inside. It was rough to say the least. I worked on a 1000 piece puzzle for 2 days straight haha on Saturday morning at like 1:15 am, Sister Foulger was still not feeling good so we sat out in the living room for a while and I did my puzzle some more...its coming along quite nicely.
Anyways, a super cool thing that happened this week is that we went to Brokenhead Reserve and found this guy we've been talking to on Facebook about the Gospel, and we weren't sure if we should teach him for sure but we both felt prompted to go to his house, and we had a really great lesson with him! He's been through a lot, but he really wants to change his life around. It was awesome.
We also painted birdhouses with a recent convert who's not been able to come to church since she has bad health. It was super fun! And I painted a super pretty birdhouse which I'm quite proud of! It's beautiful haha so the lesson from that experience is that if God can give the gift of tongues, he can give the gift of painting πŸ˜‚πŸŽ¨ She even invited us over for Thanksgiving dinner! It was good!

So this week, we were at a lesson, and the lady we were teaching was talking about her daughters and stuff, and she said something that really stuck out to me. She said, "We won't let it matter" and I just really loved that because it reminded me of the Savior. Whenever we come to Him and humbly ask Him to forgive us for our shortcomings, our mistakes, our sins, and our weaknesses, He helps us overcome, and then says "We won't let it matter. It's in the past. Be Still and trust me."
In my studies yesterday, I was reading the song "Master, The Tempest Is Raging" and it is one of my favorite songs. I just love how it kind of connects with that saying "We won't let it matter". The fear is gone, the troubles are over, rest in the Savior and breathe. I invite you all this week to listen to this song and then study the scriptures that go with it. I know that when we are troubled, fearful, doubtful, and faithless, and it seems like "no shelter or help is nigh", the Savior will rebuke the winds and calm the storms inside of us so that we can truly feel "Heaven within [our] breast". Don't ever forget that you are a child of God and He loves you. I hope you are all able to feel that love within you and that you share it with others.
Have a great week!

Zone Conference and General Conference

Hello everyone! How was your week? Mine was awesome! We had a great week this week! We watched General Conference with someone we are teaching and she really liked it! We also got to go to Zone Conference this week, and boy was it good!!! We learned about having faith and how we can improve our relationship with Heavenly Father through prayer. President Hitchcock also said something that I thought you might all like. He said "You are where you are, so take the steps to get to where you want to be." I love that because it's such a great reminder to be grateful for our circumstances and have enough faith in Jesus Christ to take the steps into the darkness that will lead us to where we need to be. As Elder GonzΓ‘lez said," The Savior is a God we can trust." I love that because it is so true! Another thing I loved is something Elder Soares said. "You cannot afford to stop trying!" We are in this life to progress and succeed as children of a Heavenly Father that loves us. I hope you all know how much I love you and how much the Savior loves you! ❤️ Sorry this email is soo short, have a great week!

Chocolate cake brings Miracles!

Hello everyone!! This week's email is gonna be a bit short since I don't have much time to write. I am so excited for General Conference!!! Not only because of that, but because we are going to have so many people we're teaching watch it with us! There's one who we brought a German chocolate cake to because she was having a tough day and we ended up having a super cool discussion with her!! She's super awesome, so we're excited to see her progress! Also this week, someone decided to go mudding on the front lawn of the church so that's cool...
Other than that, not a whole bunch of stuff has been going on this week. We saw a hearse that is now used as a regular car πŸ˜‚ super funny. There's a member in the branch that had the same birthday as me so it was fun to hang out with the family because they're our favorites! I held a hamster and finally took some 9 month mark pictures! So in our mission, the Sisters, when they hit their 9 month mark, use pillows to look like they're 9 months pregnant haha so I did that too! Anyways, other than all that random and strange news, I want to share a message with you that I hope will help you this week!

Sometimes, we think we know what is best for us. Whether it's a promotion or moving or even a small decision. What we sometimes forget is that God knows what's really best for us and He wants to help us grow and reach our potential. In an inspirational message called "The Will of God" Elder D. Todd Christofferson talks about a general authority who owned a farm and how he cut a Current Bush that wasn't growing. He said that the Bush appeared to be crying and asking why it had been cut down. He replied "I am the Gardener here, and I know what I want you to be." As the story goes on, the General Authority joined the military and was in line for a promotion. He was fully qualified for the position of General but it was denied him because he was a member of the church. As he walked back to his tent, he shook his fist in the air and said "How could you do this to me God?" He said that he heard a voice in his head reminding him of the Bush he had cut down. The voice said "I am the Gardener here, and I know what I want you to be."

May you all remember that God knows what He needs you to be and He will take you to your highest potential. Trust in Him and know that He will do all things for your good! I love you all and I hope you have a great week!! ❤️ ❤️

Lightning, Service, and Vinegar?

Hello everyone! I hope you have had a great week! This week's email is gonna be a bit of a short one, so I apologize. We're in Winnipeg for Pday so it's easy to get distracted by so many friends!!! Anyways, it's been a good week!! We had a huge thunderstorm with looootsss of lighting. We were in the church watching the Book of Mormon videos, which speaking of, has anyone watched it yet? It's so good!!!! Anyways, we were just watching that video, and we heard this huge bomb-like noise outside that shook the building. So we decided to go out in the pouuuring rain and see what had happened. So it turns out that right across the street, a tree got struck by lightning!!! Which is weird because the steeple of our church is taller than the tree!
We did a lot of service this week, it was really fun! We ended up having a couple of good lessons with them! It was fun! One of them had this book about Vinegar and it's many uses and did you know that Vinegar can be used to soften callouses on your feet? Fun facts for the week lol anyways, other than that, not much happened! This week has been really good. Something I have learned this week is that God is so aware of His children and He loves all of them.
Even though sometimes we don't feel like God is aware of us, I promise that He is, and He knows everything you need. Have faith in Him and allow Him to take control of your life.  He knows what is best, no matter what happens. I promise that no matter where we are, what our situation is, or what we are going through, God is in control and knows exactly what we need.
I love you all and I hope you have a great week!
